My Memories of Amy Winehouse
On Saturday evening I was happily making my way to Plantation excited at enjoying an evening of live entertainment, cooking food for and having a good old chin wag with the customers. At 5.30pm my mobile went crazy, text messages and phone calls were coming in one after the other.
“Bev have you heard the news? Amy Winehouse was found dead in her flat....”
You could have blown me down with a feather. My sense of excitement and happy anticipation was rapidly replaced with deep sadness.
In 2007 Amy visited Bristol in to film “Vodaphone TBA” for channel 4. I was honoured that she came to Plantation for lunch. I was able to sit and chat with her for ages. She was warm, friendly, charming and very easy to get along with, I felt as though I’d known her for ages. Her fragility and vulnerability were evident. I couldn’t help but feel protective towards her. We shared a hug as she left Plantation, and I wished her well
I wish to send my condolences to her family and friends. You are in my thoughts and prayers
Amy rest in peace....
