statement: "I draw
inspiration from nature. Nature in its misty, bleakest or
sunniest forms. I have enjoyed much appreciation from my dewy,
mystical forests, meaningful skies, bleak rainy landscapes or
invigorating and wild seascapes – ambiance brought about through
translucent layers of paint and application of inner-felt
feeling.
Through my Caribbean images I like to capture in paint the
magnificently beautiful landscapes, striking vibrant colours,
hospitable and fun-loving community locals, tantalising cuisine
and stunning seascapes. I try to make my images reflect the
colourful yet fragile beauty of the islands.
Some firm favourites of my non-Caribbean images are my mystical
forests, stormy weathers and wild seascapes in translucent oils
or ink wash-off paintings which leave behind a strange mottled
‘aged’ feeling. Watercolours and charcoals are enjoyed by the
public too for their spontaneity and realism." |
